It's All A Blur

Forget The Beatles and The Rolling Stones - Blur have been voted the greatest guitar band ever.

A shock poll of 25,000 radio listeners has crowned the 90s indie kings - with the Stones only in sixth place and The Beatles lagging behind at No 10.

But the result has struck a bum note with rock experts. Virgin radio's Ben Jones said: "it's outrageous The Rolling Stones have only come sixth.

"What Blur are doing at No 1 is a mystery. The Stones should be No 1 - they are still amazing."

Britpop giants Blur are fronted by Damon Albarn, with guitists Graham Coxon and Alex James, all 38, and drummer Dave Rowntree, 43.

The Radio Centre poll was carried out for stations including Virgin Radio, XFM and Kerrang.
