It's The Bizarre Awards 2008

Shove the Baftas, Brits, and Grammys, the only gongs that matter are the, er, Bizarre Awards.

Just ask Coldplay, who won Best Rock Band.

Take That, Oasis, Girls Aloud and Jo Wood were also among the winners

Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Gary Barlow were crowned the new Bizarre Lords.

The lads deserve the honour after another triumphant year.

And Sarah Harding was delighted with Girls Aloud's Best Pop award.

They keep getting better — and I’m not just talking about the music.

Album Of The Year was easy — Kings Of Leon produced rock ’n’ roll gold with Only By The Night and one million copies have been shifted in the UK.

Drummer Nathan Followill said: “Thanks to everyone for buying our record, man.”

And Best Single went to the X Factor Finalists for Hero.

Anyone who went to see Oasis on tour this year will agree there is still nothing to compare to the Gallagher firm.

Accepting Best Live Act, Noel said: “Respect to The Super Soaraway Sun — Britain’s No1 for making Oasis the best live band.”

Best TV Show goes to Gavin & Stacey with Ruth Jones the Best Actress for playing Ness.

Mat Horne and James Corden picked up the show’s award on Christmas Eve.

Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla is Best Film for a return to the magic of Lock Stock and Snatch.

Toby Kebbell, who played the lead, wins Best Actor.

Jo Wood is named Lady Of Bizarre.

Her half-wit hubby Ronnie has left her for a Camden tart but Jo has been larging it. A true Lady Of Bizarre.

Best Newcomers, Danish group Alphabeat, have brought a smile to our faces with their pop gems.

Sadly, the famous Bizarre Caner and Bizarre Shagger prizes were snubbed by the winners this year.

Welsh scarecrow Rhys Ifans, said of the Caner award: “It’s not what I want to be winning.”

Really Rhys? I wasn’t aware your mantelpiece was heaving with “honourable” silverware.

Russell Brand scooped Shagger Of The Year for the third consecutive year.

He was “too busy” to pick it up but the gong is still renamed The Russell Brand Shagger Of The Year Award.

Who’d have thought Russ agreed with the festive phrase, “It’s better to give than to receive . . .”
