Tom Meighan: " We Could Never Duplicate What Oasis Achieved"

........ While they stepped up their game in 2009, Kasabian also saw the demise of their friends – and idols – Oasis.

The mantle of best rock band in Britain seemed to pass on to them, but Tom isn’t content with the tag.

He explains: “It’s all very flattering and very nice people saying we’re stepping into Oasis’s shoes, but we could never duplicate what Oasis achieved.

“That will never happen – they were so massive and sold 40million records.

“Maybe if we’d been around in the 90s we’d have sold 10million albums but it’s different now.

“They were the biggest band since The Rolling Stones and were so f***ing big.

“We’re looking to have the same longevity and I hope I’ll be still around when I’m 40 – and bald and fat.”
