Oasis Announce Chasing The Sun Exhibition

Ahead of the release of their Definitely Maybe reissues, Oasis have announced details of an exhibition of rare photographs, artefacts and memorabilia from the past two decades. Entitled Chasing the Sun: Oasis 1993–1997 and taking place in London from 11–22 April, this will be the first exhibition dedicated entirely to the band.

Documenting their live performances at London’s 100 Club, Glastonbury and Knebworth, as well as the creation of three of their albums – Definitely Maybe, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory and Be Here Now – the exhibition includes previously unseen images from photographers such as Jill Furmanovsky, Paul Slattery, Tom Sheehan, Kevin Cummins and Jamie Fry. Chasing the Sun: Oasis 1993-1997 will also display some of the instruments played on their first few albums as well as vintage merchandise and rare early footage of the group.

Opening on the 20th anniversary of their debut single, Supersonic, which was released on 11 April 1994, the show follows news of the band’s recently announced reissues. Oasis’s 1994 debut, Definitely Maybe, will be rereleased to mark its 20th anniversary on 19 May, and will include rare and unreleased recordings. A three-CD special edition will feature rare demo recording. The track Supersonic will also be reissued as a 12in vinyl to coincide with this year’s Record Store Day on 19 April.

The exhibition will take place at the Londonewcastle Project Space in Shoreditch, London.
