Ice Cream Maker Wants Noel Gallagher To Taste Her Latest Creation

An ice cream maker has turned Scotland’s Favourite Pint into a frozen treat – and hopes to tempt Noel Gallagher try it.

The award-winning Fochabers Ice Cream Parlour, in Moray, is famous for its wacky flavours and ice cream creations and their latest sees Tennent’s lager turned into a sorbet.

According to the shop's owner Sheila Gray - who has previously been dubbed the Willy Wonka of ice cream - the frozen delight is the perfect pairing to her curry flavoured ice cream.

She said: “I was thinking Friday night is curry night and I was thinking curry and a pint – a Tennent’s chaser.

“It works better as a sorbet than as ice cream, it’s much more refreshing.”

She hopes the new creations appearance in her shop might even persuade some famous fans of the drink to visit.

“When Noel Gallagher was up at the Craigellachie Hotel he was drinking Tennent’s and he thought it was the best beer he’d had.

“I’m going to send him a Tweet telling him to come and try the best Tennent's sorbet.

“So we’ll see if he gets back.”

Some of Sheila’s previous flavours have included turkey and cranberry, haggis and black pudding.

“We went with Tennent’s because it’s Scottish,” she added.

“It very much tastes like Tennent’s. I’m not a beer drinker, but one of the girls that works here really likes it.

“You’d certainly know it was a really iced can of Tennent’s.

“It’s almost like a Tennent’s slushie.

“People like it. They like coming in and trying the two together.

“Customers are intrigued. I’m sure this one will make a regular appearance.”

Despite making headlines with the unusual flavourings, Sheila has won several awards for her more traditional flavours including her chocolate and honeycomb ice creams.
